WELLNESS PLANS

Wellness and Meditation Programs

*Scroll down for specific program details.
We created these plans to address many of the common issues that interfere with the therapeutic healing process. Here is a short description of each of the issues, and how our programs adequately address it:

Issue: "I feel better, thanks!" Many people start to feel better right away, even after just a few sessions and think, “I’m good now!” Unfortunately, because of the way the mind works, too often we see people achieve a level of symptom relief, so they feel better and stop therapy. But of course, the underlying patterns causing the symptoms are not healed, so the issues return, sometimes with a vengeance. This situation can often lead to discouragement, frustration, and even hopelessness that things aren’t ever going to be better.
How our programs address this issue: Most of our programs entail a commitment to a set number of sessions to better ensure that a level of healing can truly take root as the foundation for continued growth.

Issue: "I feel worse, no thanks!" When we slow down and look a little more deeply at the root causes of our symptoms, we can sometimes feel even worse. Things aren’t actually worse; we are just finally seeing the situation for what it truly is (and has been all along). Similarly, depending on the issue, it can take some time for the “medicine” of therapy to take effect and change how you feel. Consequently, patience, commitment, and self-compassion are three key characteristics of successful therapy.
How our programs address this issue: A longer-term commitment helps you push through this initial phase, along with a lot of support from your clinician.

Issue: Let’s face it, therapy can be expensive and difficult. People often have a real moment of clarity – they see, without any doubt, that things are not going well, are likely to get even worse without action, and assistance is needed to ensure the actions taken are likely to be beneficial. However, these initial sparks of insight and motivation can be worn down by having to pay for therapy every week in addition to the weekly (and even daily) "grind” of doing the challenging work that may be required for the healing to begin.

How our programs address this issue: The specific length and fixed prepayment of our programs enable you to fully engage and transform the power of that initial moment of clarity and intention into a commitment to your wellness.

Issue: Life just got turned up to 11. We see people initiate therapy, but then something significant happens in life – work gets piled on, a relationship ends, or a new job is started – and healing and wellness are de-prioritized. The thing is, there is often no better time to engage in a growth or healing process than when the intensity of life increases. Furthermore, sustained effort is far more effective than repeated starts and stops.

How our programs address this issue: Our commitment-based programs help you draw a “line in the sand” so that you can prioritize your healing process by refusing to allow virtually anything to knock you off your path to wellness.

Issue: "I am well and just need some support." Not everyone needs intensive work, and many people have been working on themselves in various ways for years. However, many people don't have confidence that the books they are reading and associated work they are doing is going to result in the outcomes they are seeking.
How our programs address this issue: We have a program (see Supported Self-Transformation below) that supports exactly this approach so you can feel confident that the time and effort you invest in self-improvement work will be effective.

What does it cost? $375.

Life Transformation Through Meditation

Who’s it for? We don’t believe in meditation for stress relief or coping, we believe it is a scientific tool that is meant to heal the mind / body system so that coping is (eventually) no longer needed. If you are seeking to start a serious meditation practice, this plan is for you. Full Disclosure: we are classically trained in Buddhist meditation methods and teach from this perspective, though the techniques can be employed to support any and all faith paths or spiritual traditions. We are highly supportive and respectful of all paths, but when it comes to meditation, the Buddhist approach is widely acknowledged to be optimal even by secular scientists.

What does it entail? 9 sessions over the course of 9 to 18 weeks wherein the meditation student will follow a meditation course and received regular feedback and guidance.

What does it cost? $800.

Meditation Add-On

Add the meditation course described above to any of our wellness plans for $600, a $200 discount. Additional weekly sessions will be needed for meditation support, it cannot be combined with therapy sessions given the difference in focus.
